WoW doesn't need Gamestop to advertise for them. They have Mr.T and William Shatner to do that for them. Oh, and ESPN Sportscenter's Call of the Day, which is sponsored by WoW.

I think what's more lame is that Vekk doesn't do this dance in game.

That aside, it'd be better if that commercial said "oh btw buy GW yo" or something equivilent. Otherwise people I gonna think "What the pluck?"

That commercial was horrible. lol. Vekk doesnt do that in game, so Anet sent them the video source I imagine.

Not that I condone what was done, but the Youtube commerical is what I saw on TV the other night. I thought it was funny, actually.

Like others have said the commerical is not for guild wars and unless you knew it was guild wars, you would never know what it was.

Theres a hell of a lot of crap on American TV lol. That advert is so RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up cos it doesnt even use the real voice actors... just makes me wanna rofl at the stupidness.

It was said that people wouldn't know that was Guild Wars just by looking at it, but I didn't know the "Lost Kitty" one was from ET: Quake Wars. Never played it, so I have no common reference. In fact, the last Quake-related game I played was II about 8 years ago.

I think Gamestop chose more "generic" NPCs (the face of GW are the characters on the cover, not Vekk/Pyre/Ogden) because they didnt want it to be a focus on the game, but rather on the commercial's message, no matter how crappy the writing.
